Cholsey United 'v' Halse United - Saturday 31st August - KO 2pm - OSL Prem

Long journey over to Wallingford to face Cholsey United who were newly promoted from divison 1 in the Oxfordshire Senior League after winning 17 in 18 games and the Ben Turner Cup.
Halse United took a full 16 man squad for this opener.

A early chance for hale on 6 minutes in when skipper Simpson picks up a loose ball and drags it down the left wing. Simpson gets his cross in, met by Mortimer which is tipped round the near post.
First goal happens just 20 minutes into first half after a fairly even start to the game with Cholsey seeing a bit more of the ball. From a long throw in thats launched into the Halse box which causes some confusion and causes a goal mouth scramble with the ball being poked home.

First booking on 27 minutes comes Cholsey way for number 8 for a late diving tackle on Durnin who gets no where near the ball.
Next chance comes Cholsey way on 30 minutes when GK Matthews is wiped out in the build up for Cholsey and play continues when Cholsey have a almost empty net but centre half Salvatore makes a great goal line block .
On 35 minutes Cholsey make it 2 after another set peice, this time coming from the left corner. The ball sails over the Halse box to the opposite side and the Cholsey number 11 dribbles his way through and scores at the far post from a tight angle.

Anothef chance for Cholsey just 4 minutes later when another break down the right for Cholsey who lobs Matthews from a tight angle. Again its the Halse centre half Salvatore is back to acrobatically clear the ball off the line.
Just before the half time whistle Cholsey get a third when a long diagonal switched into the right corner and the Cholsey number 17 brings it down, flicks it around full back Ralph, drives into the Halse box and beats Matthews at the near post.

Just one substitution at half time with Purnell off and Kinner on.

A double substitution for Halse with Summers and Blaylock off and Gilsenan and Humphries on.
Chance for Halse on 6o minutes when number 12 Kinner try's an ambitious shot from range which narrowly sails over the Cholsey bar.
Another change for Halse as the gaffers try to make an impact on the game with full back Ralph off and young striker Williams is on.
Second booking for Cholsey on 75 minutes for number 6 for a clip on Durnin.
Fifth and final substitution for the black and white Mortimer off and Stonhill on.
First substitution in final minutes for Cholsey with number 3 making way for number 12.
Final whistle goes and it was to much for Halse to come back after being 3-0 down at half time.
